Our Training Package

The DPJ Foundation provides ‘Mental Health Awareness Training’ which is our own bespoke agricultural training package.  Over 1500 people have received our specialist training since August 2018.

Our 5 Step Support System

Our Mental Health Awareness training sessions, will equip you to understand how to support those with poor mental health and look after yourself. Our training day events are based on providing information and facts around mental health issues in Wales and the UK and in particular the agricultural sector, as well as giving you practical tools to help.

We explore the most common mental health conditions and explain a 5 step skill system that will enable you to go away with a clear understanding of how to support individuals with poor mental health.  As we think this is so important, we have taken the decision to currently offer individual places free of charge.  If you would like to find out more about the training or are interested in arranging training for your organisation, please contact Kay Helyar on or call 07984 169507.

Understanding Bereavement & Grief Training

It’s inevitable that bereavement and grief will affect us all at some point during our lives and it can sometimes be difficult to know what to say to those who have lost a loved one, especially those bereaved by an unexpected death, like an accident or suicide.

Here at The DPJ Foundation we have developed new training to help understand grief and bereavement. This free short course which is funded by the Welsh Government’s Bereavement Support Fund is available to anyone in Wales to help develop understanding of grief and bereavement in a farming context.

Upcoming dates for the ‘Understanding Bereavement and Grief’ course, are available to book on our Eventbrite page. Several dates will continue to be added throughout 2023.

We explore the most common mental health conditions that can face many in different sectors during our Mental Health Awareness training days, here’s what just some of our participants thought of our events.

"Excellent course providing people with the skills to go out into the community and break down the stigma surrounding mental health and to support anyone who might be struggling with their mental health."

Farm worker

"One of the best courses I have ever been on, I wish I’d been on this training when I was 18. Sadly no one spoke about this when I was younger. Thanks for today."

Trading standards officer

"A very interesting and informative day."
